Packages

A package groups one or more courses so you can assign and price them as a unit. Select a tab below to learn how to configure it.

  • Settings — Name, description, pricing, visibility, domain limitation, purchase URL, payout method, and thumbnail.
  • Courses — Add or remove courses, sync changes to already-assigned learners, and download SCORM files for your own LMS.
  • Notifications — New user assignment, completion reminders, complete-by-date, and course completion emails.
  • Groups — Assign the package to customer groups so every group member automatically gets access.
  • Users — Assign the package to individual users, manage assignments, and review course statuses.
  • Archive Users — Archive one or many users' assignments using row selection or a CSV file.

Duplicating a package

When a new package is close to one you already run — the same courses on a new schedule, or the same training aimed at a different audience — copy the existing one instead of rebuilding it from scratch.

On the Packages list, open the actions menu () on the package row and choose Duplicate. Confirm, and you land on the Settings tab of the new copy, named Original name (Copy).

The copy is always created as Unlisted, whatever the original's visibility, so it stays out of the public catalog while you work on it. Rename it, adjust whatever you need, then set the visibility you actually want.

The result is a fully independent package. It gets its own Invite and Buy links, and later edits to either package leave the other untouched.

note

Duplicate is available to administrators and authors. Archived packages cannot be duplicated — unarchive the package first.

Archiving and deleting a package

When a package has served its purpose, archive it rather than deleting it.

Archive retires a package without losing anything, and is fully reversible. Open the actions menu () on the package row and choose Archive. The package leaves your working list and stops appearing in search, on your dashboard, and in the group picker, so it can no longer be assigned to a customer group. To bring it back, switch the list filter from Active to Archived and click Unarchive.

Archiving tidies your own view rather than withdrawing training: learners who already have the package keep their access and can still finish their courses.

Delete is permanent, and only possible while no learner is assigned to the package. Once anyone has been assigned, delete is refused — archive the package instead, or unassign everyone first.

vCourse: a package for one evolving course

Bundling different revisions of the same course over time, rather than different courses, calls for a different package type. A vCourse groups versions of one course and uses a date to decide which version learners get, so you never have to reassign anyone when a new version goes live.
